Riders can add a tip after the trip, and all of it is paid to you. Driveroo takes nothing from tips.

Payouts are handled by Stripe. Add your bank details once, and your earnings are paid to your bank automatically, with no invoices to send.

Each request shows the pickup, the drop-off and the estimated fare, and stays open for 10 to 15 seconds. Accept it, or let it go to the next nearest driver.

Tap Navigate and Google Maps opens with directions to the pickup, then on to the drop-off.

See what you've made today and this week, with tips shown on their own, and follow each payout to your bank.

Before you apply
What you'll need
You'll add these in the driver app when you apply. Our team checks every one before you can take trips.
- A current driver's licenceA clear photo, with its expiry date.
- Vehicle registrationFor the car you'll drive, as a photo or PDF.
- InsuranceFor the same car, as a photo or PDF.
- A profile photoRiders see it with your first name and last initial when you accept their trip.
You'll also need an iPhone or Android phone for the driver app, and a bank account for your payouts.

Western Australia has its own rules for people who drive passengers for a fare, and for the cars they use. When you register your interest, we'll send you the full list of what you'll need to drive with Driveroo.

Apply in the driver app
Enter your mobile number and the code we text you, then add your name, email and the car you'll drive.

Upload your documents
Take a photo of your licence, registration and insurance, and add a profile photo.

Step 3
We check them
Our team reviews your documents. You'll get a notification and an email when it's done.

Step 4
Set up payouts
Stripe asks for your name, date of birth, address and bank details on its secure pages. You can do this while we check your documents.

Step 5
Go online
Once you're approved and payouts are set up, tap Go online to start getting trip requests.

Questions from drivers
When can I start driving?
The Driveroo driver app is coming soon. Register your interest and we'll email you when you can apply. You can start taking trips once your documents are approved and your payouts are set up.
What do I need to drive with Driveroo?
A driver's licence, the registration and insurance for the car you'll drive, and a profile photo, which you upload in the app. WA also has its own rules for passenger transport, and we'll send you the full list when you register your interest.
Can I choose when I drive?
Yes. Go online when you want trip requests and go offline when you're done.
Do I have to accept every trip?
No. Each request shows the pickup, the drop-off and the estimated fare, and stays open for 10 to 15 seconds. If you decline it or let it pass, it goes to the next nearest driver.
How do I get paid?
Through Stripe. You add your bank details on Stripe's secure pages from the app, and Stripe then pays your earnings to your bank automatically. Driveroo only sees your bank's name and the last four digits of your account, and you can follow each payout in the app.
Do I keep my tips?
Yes. Riders can add a tip after the trip, and all of it goes to you.
What if a rider keeps me waiting or cancels?
The first few minutes at the pickup are free for the rider. After that, waiting time is charged per minute. If a rider cancels late, a cancellation fee may apply. Both show in your earnings in the app.
Can I rate riders?
Yes. After each trip you can rate the rider from one to five stars, just as riders rate you.
How do I contact a rider?
Message or call them from the trip screen. Calls go through the app, so your phone number stays private.
Who checks my documents?
The Driveroo team checks every document before you can take trips. If one needs a new photo, the app tells you which one and why.
